The Deen Brothers’ Chocolate Chip Pie

The Deen Brother's Chocolate Chip Pie

Paula Deen sure does have a lot to be proud about and her two boys being behind this delicious recipe would bring a smile to anyone’s face – I know it has mine!  This recipe, like the previous bastilla, makes enough for TWO pies!  And they will go – quickly – into the hungry and happy mouths of your nearest and dearest family and friends.

I have made this recipe twice now.  The first time I made it in two circular pie pans and sans whipped cream with equal parts chocolate and nuts.  The second time, I split the batter and did half white chocolate and macadamia nut and half chocolate and walnut and poured each half into a large rectangular baking dish.  It took slightly longer to bake but didn’t last the night.

I suggest substituting the chocolate chips for M&M’s MINIS® – Super cute and rainbow colored! Or, for the holiday time, M&M’s® in colors that mach your decorations.  These travel beautifully (especially when made in recyclable pans) and make great hostess gifts!
